Own the architecture on client engagements across web applications and portals. You will make the rendering and data-model decisions, review everything that merges, and be the named engineer a client can call.

Build and operate pipelines and lakehouses for industrial and commerce clients. Batch and streaming, plant historians to warehouses, with real SLAs and overnight failure modes that matter.

Build agentic workflows and extraction systems that run in production with guardrails, evaluation harnesses and human approval gates. Not demos — systems that process thousands of documents a month.

Build ERP, CRM and portal systems for manufacturers and distributors. Service layers, queues, migrations, tests — modern PHP done to a standard that will still be maintainable in five years.

Forty-two people, grown four to six a year. Everyone works on projects we own. Nobody is placed at a client site as a resource.
How we hire, and what to expect
Two weeks, a paid take-home that resembles real work, and a conversation with the people you would actually sit beside.
A 30-minute conversation, then a paid take-home task of about four hours that resembles real work rather than a puzzle, then a technical discussion of your solution with the person you would work with, then a conversation with the founder. Usually completed within two weeks. We pay for the take-home because your time is worth something whether or not we hire you.
Hybrid, with a genuine expectation of two to three days in the Sealdah office for most roles. Discovery workshops, plant visits and design reviews happen in person because they work better that way, and pairing on hard problems is considerably easier in a room. Fully remote is possible for senior roles with a strong track record.
No. Every person here works on projects we own and are accountable for. Nobody is placed at a client site as a resource. It is a smaller business as a result and a considerably better one to work in.
Every line is reviewed before it merges, including — especially — the lines generated by AI tooling. Reviews are on the work rather than the person, and disagreement with a senior engineer is expected rather than tolerated. If a review makes you defensive, we have written it badly and we would rather hear that.
We use it daily and we are direct about what it changes. Implementation of well-understood things is dramatically faster. Architecture, judgement, review and accountability are not. The engineers doing well here are the ones who use the tooling and remain the person who decides — which is a more senior job than the one it replaced, not a lesser one.
Write anyway. We hire four to six people a year and roughly a third of those come from speculative applications that arrived at the right moment. Tell us what you have built and what you want to work on. WhatsApp is fine.
What working here is actually like, including the parts that are hard
Recruitment copy in this industry is uniformly positive and therefore uniformly uninformative. It is more useful to describe the trade-offs honestly, because the people who thrive here are the ones who read the difficult parts and found them appealing rather than tolerable.
The work is unusually close to the client. Engineers here go to plants, sit with supervisors, and watch the process their software will change. That is the most valuable professional education available in this field and it is genuinely uncomfortable at first, particularly for people who joined the industry expecting to be handed specifications. If you want to be given tickets and left alone, this is the wrong studio and we would rather you knew that now.
The technical variety is wide, which cuts both ways. In a year here you might work on a Next.js front end, an Airflow pipeline and a legacy PHP rescue. People who want to go extremely deep on one framework will find that frustrating; people who want to understand how systems fit together will learn faster here than almost anywhere.
We are candid about the constraints too. We are a Kolkata studio and we do not pay what a global capability centre pays for the same title — what we offer instead is ownership of whole problems rather than a slice of somebody else’s, direct contact with the businesses you are helping, and senior people who review your code carefully because the standard matters more to us than the throughput. That is a genuine trade and it suits some people and not others.
Honest expectations

- Your code will be reviewed carefully, and you will be expected to review others’.
- You will sometimes maintain systems you did not write and would not have written.
- You will be told when something is not good enough, directly and without ceremony.
