What Kolkata businesses say about working with us
Rated 4.7 out of 5 across 64 reviews. Below is a longer selection, including a project that overran — because a page of unbroken five-star ratings tells you less than an honest mix.
How the ratings break down
Distribution across the 12 reviews published on this page. The average here is 4.9 of 5; the site-wide figure of 4.7 is the Google Business Profile aggregate across every review we have received, which is the number you can verify yourself.
How to check these yourself
- Search Sayak Web Designer & Developer on Google and read the profile reviews directly. The aggregate there is the figure we quote.
- Every review below names its source — Google, email, or given to us directly.
- Ask us to introduce you to a client with a comparable project. We will, including one that had difficulties.

Enquiries now arrive with specifications already attached
Our previous website had a stock photograph and a paragraph about commitment to quality. It brought us nothing in four years. Sayak spent two days on our shop floor before drawing anything, and what they built lists our machine capacities, tolerance ranges and certifications in a way a purchasing officer can actually evaluate. The change was not in the number of enquiries so much as in their quality — people now call having already decided we can do the job, so the conversation starts at commercial terms.
They talked us out of half of what we asked for
We went in with a long list of features we were certain we needed. They built roughly half of it and explained clearly why the rest would be maintained forever and used by nobody. Six months on they were right about every item. The store is fast on phones, which matters because that is where almost all of our traffic comes from, and our team updates the catalogue ourselves without calling anyone.
Parallel running for a full month meant nobody had to trust it blind
Replacing a system a clinic depends on is frightening, and most vendors we spoke to proposed a weekend cutover. Sayak ran the new system alongside our registers for a full month and only switched once the numbers matched every day. Our front desk staff were part of the design rather than being trained at the end, which is why they actually use it. Report preparation that took a person most of a morning now takes minutes.
Eight hours a week of typing removed, and the errors with it
Supplier invoices arrived as PDFs and two people retyped them into our accounting system every week. They automated the extraction with a check step that flags anything uncertain, so around ninety per cent goes through untouched and our staff only handle exceptions. What surprised me was that they insisted on measuring how long the old process took before quoting, so we could both tell afterwards whether it had been worth it.
The first agency that showed us Search Console rather than a PDF
We had spent two years with an agency that sent a monthly report full of charts and produced no enquiries. Sayak started by showing us that half our pages were not indexed at all and explaining why. They fixed the technical problems first, then the targeting, and were candid that results would take months rather than weeks. They did. Being told the honest timeline upfront was worth more than the promises we had been given before.
The eight o’clock meeting stopped being an argument about whose number was right
Our morning production report was assembled by hand from three systems, and most of the meeting was spent disputing figures rather than acting on them. They automated the assembly with the definitions agreed in writing beforehand, which was the part that mattered — the technical work was straightforward, getting everyone to agree what "despatched" meant was not. They handled that conversation better than any vendor we have used.
A design system, not a folder of images
I had been through two designers who sent me JPEGs and disappeared. What I got here was a documented system — colours with defined roles, type scale, rules for how things are spaced — so when I add a page myself it still looks like my brand rather than a guess. The files are in my own account, unlocked. After my previous experiences that alone was worth the fee.
They were honest that they could not be here the same day
Most suppliers in Kolkata told us distance would be no problem. Sayak said plainly that Siliguri is a night away and structured the project around it — three concentrated days on site for discovery, remote build with weekly working software rather than documents, then on site again for launch. Because they were straight about the constraint, the plan actually held. Our transit times and coverage are now on the site, which is what buyers in Guwahati and Gangtok check first.
Went long, and they told us why rather than hiding it
The project overran by about six weeks, largely because our own data was in far worse condition than we had admitted — duplicate suppliers, three spellings of the same customer. What I valued was that they raised it early with a clear explanation rather than quietly absorbing it and surprising us at the end. The system itself has been reliable for over a year and the job costing is finally trustworthy.
The first conversation was scoping, not a pitch
I called expecting a sales presentation and instead got half an hour of questions about how enquiries reach us and what happens after. They suggested a smaller site than I had budgeted for, and spending the difference on photography. That advice cost them money and it was correct — the photographs of our actual chambers do more for us than another five pages would have.
They answer WhatsApp, which sounds small and is not
We had a site built years ago by someone who stopped responding. Sayak took it over, updated everything that was out of date, and now handle it monthly. When something breaks I message them and get a reply the same day from the person who actually does the work, not a ticket number. For a business my size that is the whole difference.
Honest advice on Shopify versus WooCommerce, including the cheaper answer
We asked for a custom store. They walked us through what Shopify would cost against a custom build at our volume and recommended we start on Shopify and revisit once we were doing meaningful revenue. They built the storefront properly and set up the COD rules that were actually causing us returns. Two years later we have moved to WooCommerce with them, exactly as they said we probably would.
Why we publish the difficult ones too
A reviews page made entirely of five-star ratings is not evidence of quality; it is evidence of curation. Every supplier with a decade of work behind them has had projects overrun, scope arguments and clients who were unhappy for a period. Showing none of that asks a reader to believe something that is not true of anyone, and most readers know it.
So we publish the four-star review, and if you read it you will see that the project overran by about six weeks. The reason was partly ours and partly that the client data was in worse condition than anyone had admitted at the start — which is the single most common cause of overrun in software projects and almost never appears in a case study. What matters, and what the client says, is that it was raised early with an explanation rather than quietly absorbed and revealed at the end.
We also do not use automated review-request sequences, and we never offer anything in exchange for a review. Both practices are common and both are detectable — Google removes incentivised reviews and can suspend a profile for them, and a burst of vague five-star ratings in a single week convinces no one who is paying attention. A named person asking a satisfied client at the point of delivery, with a direct link, produces fewer reviews and better ones.
If you are evaluating us against other suppliers, the most useful thing you can do is ignore this page and ask to speak to a client. We will arrange it, and we will offer you one whose project was difficult as well as one that went smoothly. Any supplier unwilling to do that is telling you something worth knowing.
Our review policy
- The aggregate rating is from Google Business Profile and independently verifiable.
- Every review names its source — Google, email, or given directly.
- No automated request sequences, no incentives, no requests to amend criticism.
- A four-star review stays published, with the reason it happened.
- We will introduce you to a client with a comparable project on request.
About these reviews
If something here does not answer your question, ask it on the call. We would rather address scepticism directly than have you weigh it silently against another quote.
The aggregate rating of 4.7 out of 5 from 64 reviews comes from our Google Business Profile, which anyone can verify independently — search our name on Google and the same figure appears. Reviews given directly to us by email or in person are published with the client's permission and marked with their source.
Because a page of nothing but five-star reviews tells a reader less than an honest mix. That project overran, the reason was partly ours and partly the state of the client data, and how we handled it is more useful to a prospective client than another perfect score. Any supplier with a decade of work behind them has projects that were difficult; the ones who show none are curating.
Yes. Tell us which kind of project you are considering and we will put you in touch with a client who had a comparable one — including, if you ask, a project that hit difficulties. We would rather you spoke to someone directly than relied on text on our own website.
A named person asks at the point the work is delivered, directly, with a link to our Google profile. We do not use automated review-request sequences, we do not offer anything in exchange, and we do not ask people to remove or amend critical feedback. Purchased or incentivised reviews are removable by Google and risk the suspension of a profile worth considerably more than the reviews.
The reviews below name the service each relates to, and the service pages carry the reviews relevant to them. If you want to hear from someone who bought the specific thing you are considering — an ERP build, an eCommerce store, a data pipeline — ask and we will arrange it.
